Political Philosophy for Doug S. Rafner
Candidate for |
A school board is not the place for partisan politics. I am proud to be running with my three fellow current board members, each of whom have slightly differing political leanings and positions than myself. However, it is these differences that allow a free flow of perspectives, and provide each of us with altering viewpoints. I believe this is the reason our school board has functioned so well over the last four years. Making decisions through the lens of a certain political philosophy is not the purpose of a school board. Rather, it is the making of tough decisions based on what is best for all of the children within our district, even if that decision runs counter to a political party's position. It is for this reason that I have not sought the endorsement of any political party. |
