Continuity is at a critical point in the expansion of facilities throughout the Hospital District. Relationships that have been established must continue through the completion of all facilities.In this time of national financial crisis, it is most important that the Board members continue to maintain a high level of fiscal responsibility in the PH HealthCare District. I support the efforts of the CEO and CFO to stay on budget, work to achieve breakeven status, and to stay on budget and on the existing 5 year fiscal plan. I have been involved in efforts to nurture cooperative relationships with neighborhood clinics to relieve overuse of the hospital Emergency Rooms. It is imperative that the prudent expansion of facilities continues in Poway, Penisquitos and Valley Center to meet the growing demand for services in those areas. We must take steps now to assure continuity on the board through RE-ELECTING encumbents, and to assure that residents throughout the district will have access to quality healthcare for years to come. The biggest transition will be the Palomar Health Downtown Campus (PHDC), which will be redesigned to meet this need. I look forward to being directly involved in this process for the benefit of businesses and residents of this entire district. I |
