Candidate for
Board Member; Palomar Health

I am committed to representing the interests of all of the Palomar Health district residents, the largest district in CA. I want to improve quality, access, and financial stability.

We must ensure that the health services delivered meet the highest standards of quality in the nation. This is imperative in order to raise the quality ratings of the district hospitals and make Palomar the healthcare provider of choice among residents. It is equally important that the district clinics be staffed by medical professionals at the appropriate level of licensure and experience. I will ensure such staffing patterns become the rule.

It is also vital that essential healthcare services, such as forensic services and emergency care be available locally. Trauma-victims, children, seniors and the whole of the district's population deserve accessible services. I will work diligently to ensure that we have them.

Finally, the district has been under intense scrutiny resulting from a new hospital that came in late and significantly over budget. It hasn't been stabilized yet. With extensive financial management experience, I will prioritize accountable financial results.

It is imperative that the health district, going forward, benefit from a board committed to working hard, thinking strategically and paying close attention to the finances. I bring the experience and expertise to be a significant contributor in these areas.
