It's not enough for the board members to say they are aware of the problems facing the school district, or to simply point fingers. You and other Milpitas residents and 10,300 students have every right to expect real solutions from the board members -- specific, realistic ideas that can be implemented.

You and I are standing for something important in this election: stronger parental involvement, caring teachers, better facilities, more efficient classroom activities and instructions that keep pace with the needs of students and businesses. We need to create and sustain an educational environment where every student - every one of them - has a real chance at getting ahead.

The education of our children is our life-support system. It's on us to give them a good one. I am committed to work with other board members and the city council to help preparing Milpitas students to enter the highly competitive job market of tomorrow. But I also need your engagement. Progress demands action, it demands your voice, and it gives back whatever you put in. If you have ideas or opinions about how we can move our schools forward, please contact me. Together, we can address the ongoing challenges in our district.
