Candidate for |

|
" I have known Veronica for over twenty years. She was on the board during most of my tenure as Superintendent of San Jose School District from 1993-2004. Since retiring she and I have continued to stay in touch on a regular basis. Through all these years, she has put the needs of children first and has always acted in their best interests. She is a woman of high integrity and has never wavered from her commitment as a board member to ensure high quality education in schools throughout the district. I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy for re-election". Linda Murray Retired Superintendent, SJUSD "As former superintendent of San Jose Unified School District, I support Veronica Lewis in her re-election campaign. I had the honor of working with Veronica as a member of our School Board for eight years. During that time, Veronica was consistently an active advocate for the needs of all students. She held staff to the highest of expectations and she was well informed on the issues we faced. She always voted in the best interests of students. During her tenure, San Jose Unified experienced significant growth in students learning. We also narrowed the achievement gap between our Latino and White students while raising overall performance. We increased college going rate, graduation rate and lowered the number of dropouts. San Jose Unified also passed several bonds that improved the quality of our facilities during her time as a School Board Member. I wholeheartedly endorse Veronica in her re-election campaign for School Board and believe her wealth of experience, knowledge of the district and passion for students and the community make her an exceptional Board Member".
