? 1. What do you see as the role of the County Board of Education?

Answer from John Mumy:

Make sure that the responsibilities of the County Board of Education are met rather than meddling in the affairs and overturning decisions of local districts. The board should be following up on those problematic districts with a history of grand jury investigations.

? 2. What experience and training would you bring to this office?

Answer from John Mumy:

As a servant to the community I am open to all sides of the argument and I am not afraid to speak out in the advocacy of doing what is in the best interest of the community rather than small segments of the population and special interests.

? 3. Do you see a need for any changes in the way that the County Board of Education is operating?

Answer from John Mumy:

The current board seems a bit self-serving, pushing their own agenda rather that listening to those they serve. There is a failure of the board to run orderly meetings remaining silent as unruly mobs of parents vociferously disrespect those with opposing views while their unsupervised children tear up the landscaping and play in the fountain.

The current board seems to be serving the corporations that are looking for financial gain at the expense of the taxpayers. The board seems unable to see through the smoke and mirrors of corporations disguised as parent groups handing out charters willy nilly and overriding the decisions of local districts.
