Full Biography for Jermaine Wright, Sr.
Candidate for |

|
Born into a family of meager financial means, Jermaine Wright Sr. has experienced firsthand the struggle that accompanies difficult economic times. Jermaine also encountered challenges in the academic world, where teachers doubted his ability to rise above his humble beginnings and achieve higher education. However, he knew he had the potential to succeed and refused to compromise his goals. Jermaine started his career volunteering in his local community where he received numerous awards for his outstanding leadership, dedication and volunteer work. The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors Michael D. Antonovich personally recognized Jermaine for his outstanding volunteer work and community outreach. Jermaine was called to the ministry where he served as Youth Pastor and Pastor to four different congregations over the last ten years. Jermaine has applied the principles of courage, tenacity and justice that he learned as a young man; speaking out on behalf of those who need a strong voice to champion their causes. Jermaine is a small business owner, former Trustee on the Adelanto School Board and current Adelanto City Council member. Jermaine is currently a candidate for Adelanto City Mayor. Jermaine recognizes his personal blessings. He describes his family as his greatest treasure. Jermaine and Amber, his wife of 18 years have two children and have fostered many children over the years. The entire Wright family remains committed to serving the Adelanto community. Jermaine is a devoted father in which he spends time with his children and help out at their school when ever needed, and he is also an active member of the P.T.A. Jermaine is a 2014 honoree for the Dreamers Visionaries and Leaders (DVL) project. Jermaine will do everything within his power to bring sound education and secure jobs and safety back into this community. People in our area are known for being loyal and hard working. He is frustrated by the fact that so many are under-employed, or forced to commute long distance, or worst yet, have to relocate all together in order to find quality employment. Let's embrace properly placed business or industry in the City of Adelanto and let's provide our young people with technical and/or skilled job training. Adelanto can and should be the fertile ground in which we grow and nurture successful, hardworking future generations. |
