Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Barstow

Tim was first elected to the Barstow City Council in November of 2006. With an excellent work ethic and 100% dedication he has served the community proudly since his induction onto the council. Tim Was honored to be elected to a second term in November 2010. Tim is the son of Gregorio and Mary Flora Silva. Tim's father worked at the Marine Corps Logistics Base for forty years after completing his service to our country in the military. Tim's mother was a home-maker and donated much of her time to Saint Joseph's Church and School. Tim comes from a large close knit family. He has six brothers and one sister. Tim lived in Barstow from about 20 years prior to moving to the Victor Valley Area. Tim chose to move back to Barstow in 2003.

Tim is married to Kim Silva the daughter of Cliff Van Guilder and Ann Marie Hammond. The Silva's have two beautiful children, their daughter Taylor Ann who is thirteen years old and their son Tristen Steven who is seven. Tim has a daughter from a prior marriage, Dawnelle who currently lives in Michigan with her husband, Sgt. Chris Gokee and daughter Mary Lynn. Tim was born at Barstow Community Hospital in 1958 and was raised in Barstow. He graduated from Mount Saint Joseph and Barstow High School. After high school Tim attended Barstow Community College and later transferred to Victor Valley College. At college Tim obtained the credential necessary for Real Estate, Finance and Business. Tim has received his license from the Department of Real Estate, CMPS and the newly required NMLS for 2010. Tim has been a professional in the Mortgage Banking Industry since 1985 and has managed companies in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. Tim is currently the owner of the Barstow Branch of Golden Empire Mortgage. When Tim returned to Barstow in 2003, he came back with a vision and a plan to be active with-in the community. Tim became involved with local organizations to accomplish this mission. Tim is a member and past-president of the Barstow Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Barstow Association of Realtors.
