Growth in SacramentoBy Jeff S. HarrisCandidate for Council Member; City of Sacramento; Council District 3 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Sustainability is keyAs a City Council member, I would work to balance growth and development with the restoration of city services and quality of life amenities. I believe that it is important to grow the general fund so that we don't face a shortfall on public safety, public works, parks and libraries when Measure U sunsets in six years. District three will be at the forefront of development in the next few years. We have the Railyards Development, Township Nine in the River district, the Sutter Memorial Hospital re-development, and McKinley Village pending. I want to keep the vision on smart, green, well-designed infill development that will encourage public transit, parks enhancement and an urban lifestyle that is predicated upon sustainable, stable employment, while maintaining the character of Sacramento. |
