My PromiseBy Steven Allen GrashaCandidate for Director; Coachella Valley Water District; Division 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The Coachella Valley Water District has never been faced with the severe water shortages we are seeing at this time. Business as usual is not going to serve us going forward. We must work together as a community to insure that our families and businesses have safe, secure and plentiful water supplies for future generations. Part of this necessity requires our water district operate with complete transparency in its public disclosure procedures. We must as a community have complete access to district records in order to make informed decisions at election time. Over the past Thirty years as a Coachella Valley resident, I have observed tremendous growth valley wide. The Coachella Valley, land of big desert lawns and verdant golf courses, gulps down a staggering 736 gallons a day per person, five times as much as residents of San Jose or Los Angeles. To meet the water needs of our increased population and farming requirements, we must redouble our efforts to implement plans that will continue to provide adequate, excellent quality water at an affordable price to consumers. This will be accomplished by developing additional storage capacity, increased conservation and importation of water supplies for replenishment of our very limited and precious water resources. My background as a Water Systems Engineer spans thirty years of working on projects in the water environment. Prior to retirement, I was founder and President of TrueFog, USA - having worked on thousands of water related projects world-wide. I am best known in the Coachella Valley business community as the creator of the Residential Misting System. In 1992 I was honored by Palm Springs Mayor Sonny Bono when he credited me with single handedly creating the year round business economy in the Coachella Valley. TrueFog, USA is a company dedicated to the proper and efficient use of our customer water resources. My experience and dedication to sound management practices will be a definite asset when I am elected as your Director of Division 1 of The Coachella Valley Water District representing, Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Cathedral City and portions of Riverside County. I ask for your vote and confidence that I will serve our communities interest. Thank you Steve Grasha |
