My name is Mike Goodland; I am the current Mayor Pro Tem for our city Jurupa Valley. I've been married to my wife, Lorraine, for 37 years. We have three married sons, two of which are veterans, one of Iraq and the other of Afghanistan, and one living out of state; all three are happily married, and we have five grandchildren. We've lived in Mira Loma for over 35 years. I am a Viet-Nam Veteran; retired law enforcement-22yrs, and since then, have managed a computer manufacturing company sales department, taught computer science at two computer schools, establishing school curriculum for one of those schools, and a substitute teacher for JUSD. I have a B/S Degree in Business from Cal-Baptist University. I co-founded a peer support program at West Covina Police Department; served as a volunteer with the "Counseling Team" for the Loma Prieta earthquake in San Francisco; served as an Asst Scout Master for Troop 129 here in Mira Loma; served on the JVHS Booster Club as a member/president, and have been involved in the Christian community for over 37 years.

On July 1, 2011, Jurupa Valley became the newest city in California. Since incorporation, I have had the privilege of serving the citizens of these 9-communities as one member of the newly elected Jurupa Valley City Council. Together, with the other four council members, I have sought to maintain a balanced budget and to give direction to our city staff for a continued reasonable approach to improvement of our communities and city streets. With your support I will continue my efforts in maintaining a balanced budget, a balanced approach to development and to cultivate a business-friendly atmosphere within our city. I am a strong proponent for multi-cultural communities with strong alliances to faith-base communities. I sincerely appreciate your vote and look forward to continuing my service with honesty and integrity to my community and my constituents.
