After graduating from the University of Connecticut Dr. Jellinek attended Columbia University and the Albany Medical College of Union University. He obtained his medical degree in 1972 and immediately entered general surgery training, obtaining board certification in General Surgery in 1978. This followed with surgical residency in plastic surgery and board certification in Plastic Surgery in 1979.

Dr. Jellinek practiced medicine, limited to Plastic Surgery from 1978 until 2014. Thirty one years of that practice was on the medical staff of the Tahoe Forest Hospital.

Dr. Jellinek lives in Truckee with his wife.

He is actively involved with the volunteer ski patrol at Alpine Meadows and with the National Ski Patrol. He also has a passion for General Aviation and volunteers his time with Angel Flight West providing free transportation for patients from small towns across the west to treatment at distant medical centers. The doctor also flies for the Wounded Warrior Project moving our wounded heroes from small airports to other facilities. These activities are the closest to his heart.
