I was born in Sacramento in 1982 and grew up there and in the surrounding communities of Galt and Foresthill. When I was 19 years old, I enlisted in the U.S. Army, and I spent over five years specializing in tactical communications. From there, I took my talents to the military contract sector where I managed and led training for the Marine Corps's counter-improvised explosive device pre-deployment training program at Camp Pendleton. In 2012, while I was finishing my business degree, my family and I moved north to settle in Colfax where I began my career with Edward Jones in the spring of 2013. I now live in Colfax with my wife, Mandy, a Grass Valley preschool teacher, and my daughter, Malia, a senior and varsity cheerleader at Colfax High School.
