WICKSTROM - FAMILY FIRST
Alan was born in Chicago in 1964 and moved to California in 1984 when he met the love of his life, Liz, at an Elvis Costello Concert at Irvine Meadows and it was love at first sight. Liz and Alan were married in Oct 1987 and they have lived in Dana Point since 1986. They have one daughter, Julie, who graduated from Dana Hills High School in 2010. Alan's hobbies include cooking, daily walks in Dana Point Harbor with his bride and dogs, photography and caring for their dogs. He also enjoys live performances of all kinds from the Doheny Blues Festival, SOCSA Opera, rock concerts at the Coach House to plays and musicals, watching anything to do with NASA or Space, swimming, old movies and hanging out with his family & friends.

Alan's family has lived in Dana Point since 1986 and he has been an active volunteer in many local organizations, including:
- Board of Director, Dana Point Chamber of Commerce 2010 to Present and active member since 1996
- Board of Director, Dana Point 5th Marine Support Group 2008 to Present
- Past President, Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club 2013/2014 and Active Rotary member since 2007
- Former Commissioner, City of Dana Point's Arts & Culture Commission 2011 to 2013
- Former President, SOCSA Foundation + South Orange County School of the Arts at Dana Hills High School 2007 to 2009
- Active Supporter of the City of Dana Point's "Lantern District Town Center" & "Doheny Village" projects
- Active Supporter of the OC Dana Point Harbor Revitalization Plan
- Lifetime member of the Dana Point Historical Society
- Supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Capo Valley
- Supporter of the Ocean Institute
- Supporter of the Pet Project Foundation
- Volunteer for the VFW Post 9934 in Dana Point
- Past PTSA member and volunteer at local public schools
WICKSTROM - "DANA POINT CITIZEN OF THE YEAR"
Back in 2009, Wickstrom was selected as the Dana Point Citizen of the Year for his many volunteer efforts, including coordinating more than 10,000 hours of volunteer time and raising over $450,000 in funds to support arts education at Dana Hills High School during his 2 year term as president from 2007 to 2009 of the SOCSA Foundation, an arts academy inside Dana Hills High School.

In 1995, Alan started BuildingOnline, which is located in the Clock Tower building in Dana Point by La Plaza Park. He employs 7 people and manages over 100 customer accounts from around the world. His business had donated their time and resources to promote many local non-profits in and around Dana Point. As a local business owner, Alan has decades of real world experience businesses:
