EXCELLENT RESULTS FOR STUDENTS AND OUR COMMUNITY

High level student academic accomplishments, excellent school performance, extracurricular program awards, and very positive survey results reflect my effectiveness as Trustee.

• Highest Academic Performance Index (API) score increase among Orange County districts in past years

• Advanced Placement exams taken nearly doubled while maintaining about 70% passing rate

• California High School Exit Exam passing rates improved from from 86% to 95%

• New "Early College" program provides students with college credit and priority locally, while reducing remediation classwork

• Average Daily Attendance at our comprehensive and continuation schools increased to 97%

• Achievement gap significantly narrowed for English learners and students with learning challenges

• All comprehensive high schools ranked in the top 5% in the U.S.

• All comprehensive high schools received national and/or state-wide honors

• La Vista High School selected twice as the Model Continuation High School in Orange County

• Program awards won across the District include Troy Science Olympiad (#1 in U.S. multiple years), Fullerton Speech and Debate (#1 in U.S. multiple years), Buena Park Agriculture (#1 in Western U.S.), Troy #3 Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics high school in U.S., all Junior ROTC programs as National Distinguished Units, and many more

• The most recent survey results show that over 90% of parents and faculty are satisfied with the schools and District overall
