Accomplishments as Mayor/Councilmember
- Contracted with the Orange County Fire Authority and the Orange County Sheriffs to be our protective service agencies for public safety.
- Reduced crime 40% in Stanton over the past year.
- Voted NOT to renew Stanton's franchise agreement with "Golden State Water Company" I have fought our high water bills for the past 3 years. We must find a new local water company that does not rip us off.
- Established and implemented the new city wide "Neighborhood Watch Program" - coming soon to your neighborhood - already established successfully in fifteen neighborhood communities of Stanton.
- Brought the "Illumination Foundation" to the City of Stanton to help homeless families and children.
- Lowered the Stanton Utility Tax and fought against legislation to remove Prop 13 credits for Stanton homeowners.
- City Council on Wheels - City Council meets in your neighborhood, mobile home park communities, HOA, apartments, and townhomes, scheduled for the rest of the year. This community outreach makes government accessible to all the people by visiting you and addressing your needs and concerns so that we may help you improve your quality of life.
- Kept the City of Stanton solvent and out of bankruptcy by cutting our budget and improving Stanton's economic future.
- Park Rangers _ implementation of "New Park Ranger Program" to make our parks safe and assist in patrolling government buildings, schools, and public right-of-way.
- Business Development - Over 150 new businesses have come to Stanton this year and stayed. Walmart Neighborhood Market, Kim's Piano, Home Depot Expansion, Sam's Club Expansion, Park Avenue Restaurant, il Garage Restaurant, Rent My Coach RV, Teletron Electronics, Daiso, Super Department of Motor Vehicles 2014, FT3 Indoor Range, Flame Broiler, Mama Kabobs, and three new automotive centers/car dealers are just some examples.
- Developed over 200 new homes to supplement our residential communities and increasing our property values.
- Kept the general fund budget of the City of Stanton balanced
- Established and implemented our city-wide anti-graffiti program that has been a model for other Orange County cities.
- Founded the Stanton based Anti-Drug Busters Program for the County of Orange.
- Established and implemented "Youth in Government Day" - City of Stanton allows local high school students to participate in local government activities.
- Funded and founded Stanton's Halloween "Haunted House" to be part of our city-wide "Halloween Family and Friends" event.
- Eliminated the flooding at major intersections throughout the community with new storm drains and run-off systems.
Fixed and repaired all major roads in Stanton.
- Placed traffic control and stop signs throughout the community in order to make it safe for our citizens.
- Help design and acquire funding for our new "Stanton Central Park" on Western Avenue. Waiting for property to be released by the State of California.
- Expanded our Code Enforcement Department to improve the quality of life for all residents.
- Established and implemented the Stanton Business Alliance to assist our business community to be more successful and serve the community.
- Expanded our volunteer Community Parks and Recreation Department to provide more senior citizen programs and after school recreation programs for families and youth of Stanton
- Using redevelopment money, not from the general fund, built a new Fire Station, Stanton Facilities Yard, and renovated our Police Station.
- Implemented a Zero Tolerance policy for "human trafficking" and prostitution in the City of Stanton with the help of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Opened communication between the Stanton City Council and our residents so we could listen and act on your concerns and needs.
- Defeated Measure A that would have allowed organized crime and card clubs into the City of Stanton.
