BIOGRAPHY Florice Hoffman is a candidate for the Orange Unified School District, Trustee Area 5 (OUSD). The OUSD includes the cities of Orange, Villa Park, Anaheim Hills and portions of Santa Ana, Garden Grove and unincorporated Orange County. The annual budget for the OUSD is approximately $245 Million and is comprised of over 40 schools and serves over 30,000 students. Florice will work to improve student achievement and educational opportunities for all students including GATE, ESL and special needs, increase district resources, ensure student safety and increase parent participation. Florice has been an active volunteer in our community for many years. Florice's educational experience includes Vice Chair for the Orange Unified School District Legislative Coalition; Vice President of the Canyon High School Parent Teachers Association ("PTSA"); Treasurer of Grad Night at Canyon High School; and President of KinderCaminata Inc. Florice also served as a Board Member of the Orange Senior Center; and is Board member of the Orange County LULAC Foundation. Florice is a past officer of the Anaheim Lamplighters, a local Chapter of American Business Women's Association ("ABWA") and on the Board of the Orange County Industrial Relations Research Association ("OCCIRA"). Florice owns her own business and practices labor, education and employment law in Orange, California. She is an adjunct professor at the Los Angeles Community College District. She has been a member in good standing of the California State Bar since 1984. Florice received her B.A. from Brandeis University in 1980 and her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law in 1984. Florice lives in Orange, California with her twin sons, who attended elementary school, middle school in the OUSD and are recent graduates from Canyon High School. |
