Candidate StatementAs a father of three young children, I meet many families whose parents grew up in Fountain Valley and are now raising their own family here. I hope their children do the same. As a City Council member, my top three priorities are to attract and retain strong businesses, keep the city safe, and manage public finances for the future. Strong businesses provide jobs and prosperity for our city. Sales tax accounts for about 30% of the city's general fund revenues and we must nurture these businesses to encourage spending in Fountain Valley. Public safety is a continuing concern and must be monitored by the Council and the police and fire departments. Safe and well maintained neighborhoods attract families and enhance our quality of life. Public finances must be managed to ensure that the city has enough money to provide public services and provide for debt and pension liabilities. As a CPA, I will scrutinize the budget carefully and always look for ways to reduce costs and improve transparency. If elected, I will represent our residents with integrity, courage and honor.
