Preserve Opportunities for StudentsBy Robert L. DouglasCandidate for Trustee; Rancho Santiago Community College District; Trustee Area 4 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Our community college must expand the opportunities for our students.I want to make sure that all our students acquire the best quality education, and develop both academically and in their social and emotional impact. Every student should be able to achieve his/her dreams. As a product of a community college, I believe the power of community college education can help turn dreams into realities. We need a vision and strategic action plan for our community college that include diversification of our tax base, ideally attracting high-potential stakeholders and other businesses to our college so that we reduce the cost burden on students and taxpayers. Rancho Santiago College must remain the best place to get a great education. I want to build on our strengths to make an attractive vision reality. We can celebrate our college and the successes of our students and citizens. Working together, our community college can be more attractive to families with children who are ready to learn. |
