My qualificationsBy Norm NelsonCandidate for Board Member; Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System; Zone 5 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
During my 34 years on the Medical Staff of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital I have learned a great deal about how an acute-care hospital functions.During those 34 years I delivered over 3,000 babies and met many wonderful patients and their families. I also formed good relationships with other physicians, nurses, non-nursing staff, civic leaders, and the residents of my Zone. I think that these relationships will help me restore the team spirit that SVMH used to have. In addition to the positions referenced above I have volunteered hundreds of hours, serving on various committees and contributing many hours to the activities of the SVMH Foundation. I am aware of the concerns of all stakeholders in SVMH and I feel that I have the background to help SVMH navigate the changes that are already having a profound effect on reimbursements to hospitals. |
