Rudy Fischer has been on the City Council of Pacific Grove for almost four years, and is currently seeking re-election to another four year term. On the Council he has supported infrastructure projects and various city improvements. He has been instrumental in the City maintaining a balanced budget, as well as undertaking a five-year capital improvement project to fix the city's aging infrastructure. He has also supported the City's Local Water Project, renovation of the Point Pinos Lighthouse, fixing up the ball fields for the PONY League, restoring the Pacific Grove Monarch Sanctuary; and he was involved in the fundraising for the new Stillwell Children's Pool. He wants the city to make easier for homeowners to make improvements on their homes, and is pushing for policies which are more "user-friendly" for both homeowners and businesses. Fischer is the city's representative on the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency (MRWPCA) board - where he is currently the Chair of the Budget and Personnel Committee. He is heavily involved in + and has written extensively about + the attempts to find a solution for the water problems of the Monterey Peninsula. He currently works as a Management Analyst for the Department of the Navy, prior to which he had 30 years of experience in industry, mostly as a Director and Vice President for human resources and administration in various companies. In these roles he managed Human Resources, Facilities, Purchasing, Finance, and Payroll departments of mostly fast growing companies. He also served as the Corporate Secretary for the Board of Directors at two companies. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UC Berkeley, a Master of Science in International Business from St. Mary's College, and he received a Certificate of Completion from Stanford University in their Extended Studies Program; with a concentration in Business, Law, and Economics. |
