Why I am Running!

MCDH is in bankruptcy and its future is uncertain. New leadership and teamwork can create a positive solution.

Analysis of the finances indicates a serious challenge. If that were the only problem, the task would be difficult. Unfortunately, compounding the finances has been progressive dysfunction between the management, employees and the medical staff, jeopardizing the teamwork absolutely essential to provide you with high quality medical care. I have listened to you and decided that with your help, I can develop and initiate an effective plan.

It will be my goal to work with the other Board members to effect the necessary changes. An honest and open disclosure of the true financial situation and magnitude of the task is essential. The doctors, employees, management and especially the patients must be included in the solution. A coherent plan must be developed and initiated. There must be measurable metrics to monitor progress and above all else, accountability.

Medicine is facing tremendous challenges. Small hospitals can only compete by providing high quality care, delivering it a highly personalized fashion. I will accept nothing less. Please support me by voting on Nov. 4.
