Downey is a great city but there is a disconnect between the City Council and the residents. If elected I hope to make the city more responsive to the needs of its residents.I believe that the city is not using its resources in a way that makes sense: Why are we spending money on pretty islands and not fixing the roads? Why is the city preserving a building on the the old Rockwell site but allowing it to look like it should be torn down? Why are there street lights on some streets but not on all public streets? When will the city council and the fire department sit down and talk about their differences instead of trading insults in the local paper? If you are just as concerned about the direction of the City of Downey as I am, then please vote for me on November 4th. |
