Candidate for
Board Member; Walnut Creek School District

Incumbent Barbara Pennington has served on the Walnut Creek School District governing board since 2002, serving three years as board president. She and her husband Tim have lived in Walnut Creek since 1983. She has a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Northeastern Illinois University and is retired after twenty-five years in financial services management.

Barbara is a former president of the Walnut Creek Education Foundation and has been an advisory member of that organization since 2003. She is a past president of Parkmead Active Learning School's Parent Teacher Organization. Barbara has been involved in district-wide strategic planning since 2000. She is currently on the board of the Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging and is its Treasurer.

Barbara and Tim are parents to Zack and Abby, both of whom attended the district's Parkmead Active Learning School, Walnut Creek Intermediate School, and Las Lomas High School.
