I am running for School Board in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Governing Board Member., a position I previously held in 2011. And with the trust instilled in your vote, hope to serve our students once again. I am a U.S. Army Veteran, I have two children that attend the Livermore School District and have served on the Youth Advisory Commission in Livermore in 2012. I have worked managing a Youth Employment Program that aides "at-risk" youth in obtaining employment and ensuring they graduate high school. I'm currently the Scholarship Chairman for the Elks National Foundation of Livermore/Pleasanton that awards education scholarships to high school students. I was selected and honored by Assembly Member Joan Buchanan, of the 16th Assembly District as 2013 Veteran of the Year. I have a passion for education and working with parents. I know what it takes to triangulate between the needs of student, concerns of the parents and the dynamics of the School District. My objective is simple, as your School Board Member I intend to enrich our student curriculum, with a concentration on STEM Programs. Bring efficiency to the administrative processes, while supporting the needs of Teachers and support staff. Ensure fair transparent leadership in allocating resources, strengthening our budgets for our future students. Please vote for "Belia Martinez" on November 4, 2014. |
