Abe Gupta has served the citizens of Dublin on the City Council since 2013. He has been a leader in Dublin on issues of smart growth, parks, schools and open space. In collaboration with numerous residents, in 2014, Abe helped champion the adoption of the Dublin Open Space Initiative, preserving Doolan Canyon from residential development. As a member of the City Council, Abe represents the people of Dublin on several regional boards including the Alameda County Fire Advisory Board, the East Bay Division of the League of California Cities, and the Alameda County Solid Waste Authority. As a community leader, Abe has worked with the Dublin Sister City Committee and has served on the Dublin Pride Week Committee. He served on Council subcommittees that helped negotiate the hiring of the City Attorney and oversaw Dublin's branding and marketing efforts. Abe remains involved in a number of community organizations, including the Dublin Chapter of Rotary. Abe is a strong supporter of Dublin schools and in 2013 he raised over $15,000 for the Dublin Partners in Education (DPIE). An East Bay native, Abe earned his Civil Engineering degree from Stanford University at the age of 19. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law at the age of 22. Abe remains involved in the legal community by practicing law and teaching first year law students. Abe is an avid cross-fit athlete and a proud homeowner in the Dublin Ranch neighborhood. Abe lives with his fiancé, Vaishali, and their dog Zoey. |
