Occupation: Educator/Mother
Education and Qualifications:
For 21 years, I've made my home in West San Jose, where my husband and I have raised four sons. In addition to decades of service as an educator, parent, and volunteer in the Moreland School District, I have served as a City of San Jose Arts Commissioner and a board member of EHC LifeBuilders.

I am running for City Council because I believe that someone who has lived, worked, and served in our community should be our voice at city hall. My experience in local schools, coupled with a Masters in Public Administration and work at the Electric Power Research Institute will help me bring a unique balance of personal and professional perspectives to the council.

As your councilmember, I will work tirelessly to: generate economic opportunity while practicing fiscal responsibility; ensure that we can all thrive in safe neighborhoods with excellent schools for our children; expand access to affordable housing; restore library hours; enhance our parks and trails; and promote efficient transportation options.

I am honored by the support of dozens of community leaders, including former San Jose Vice Mayor Trixie Johnson and Moreland School District Trustee Julie Reynolds-Grabbe.

I respectfully ask for your vote. http://www.susangmarsland.com
