- On Wednesday April 23, 2014 The Californian and it's sister publication, El Sol will join with the National Steinbeck Center to hose a forum. The event is free and open to the public and will run from 6:30 to about 9 p.m. Candidates will be asked question from both a panel of reporters and the audience. KION-TV/Telemundo 23 and Entravision will also be assisting. Spanish translation will be available. Questions, contact Jeff Mitchell at The Californian. The location is 1 Main Street in Salinas, CA.
- Friday May 2, 2014 is the date for a forum for these four candidates. The forum is co-sponsored with the Carmel Valley Association. The 1 1/2 hour forum starts at 7 p.m. at the Community Church of the Monterey Peninsula. 4590 Carmel Valley Road (same entrance as Rancho Canada Golf Club, Carmel, CA.
- The Oak Hills Homeowners Association will hold a candidates night at 7 p.m. Tuesday May 6, 2014 in the forum at North Monterey County High School, 13990 Castroville Blvd.
The speakers will be sheriff's candidates Scott Miller, Steve Bernal, Fred Garcia and Mike Richards and District 2 supervisor candidates John Phillips and Ed Mitchell. The candidates will take the floor at 7:35 p.m.
