I am not satisfied with the current priority and funding level given to our Department of Environmental Protection. This is especially true in light of our increased energy development throughout our state. I believe we need a more robust effort that not only protects our current and future impact on our environment but also more specifically targets remediation efforts on past actions that negatively affected our states water and land. This includes a combination of more personnel as well as a greater emphasis placed on developing public private partnerships that recognize the benefits to all in this area.
