Quality City Services

Maintain a balanced budget that keeps our streets, sidewalks and neighborhood landscaping in good repair; ensures that our public walkways are pedestrian-friendly with high-efficiency lighting and free of trash

Public Safety

Provide the resources, technology and training to enable our police, fire and emergency responders to provide the highest level of service and expand the Community Watch Program

Local Economy and Fiscal Responsibility

Focus economic development on attracting 21st century firms and business start-ups that will hire and promote locally, and maximize local sourcing of goods and services

Connected Communities

Foster greater collaboration between our District 7 neighborhood organizations and City staff so all stakeholders are treated equitably and establish mentoring programs to better prepare District residents for appointments to City Committees, Boards and Commissions

Community-Based Planning and Responsible Development

Ensure that new and re-development projects respect the character of our community, preserve our historic neighborhoods and equestrian properties, adequately address parking issues in impacted areas and along business corridors; and enhance access to open space, health care and healthy food choices

  • Air Quality and the I-710 Improvement Project: Continue to seek solutions for the clean and clean transport of goods and people, and implement intelligent traffic-control systems to eliminate congestion along Wardlow Road, Willow Street and Pacific Coast Highway

  • Municipal Airport: Defend the current Airport Noise Ordinance and improve enforcement of our general Noise Ordinance to protect sensitive receptors such as hospitals, senior housing, schools, areas of biological significance and churches

  • Faith-Based/Non-Profit/Public Partnerships: Leverage and protect initiatives that address the needs of seniors, the homeless and struggling families for comprehensive social services, job training, housing, early education and K through 12 schools, and recreation

  • Port of Long Beach: Work with Harbor Commissioners to seek out cost-effective goods movement technologies that will make our Port the cleanest, fastest, most competitive operation in the Western United States
