Investing in our neighborhoods As Mayor, I will rebuild our ailing infrastructure and improve on the quality of city services. I will rebuild and reinvest in our local neighborhoods--especially those that have historically been left behind. My administration will prioritize public works projects including repair of streets & sidewalks, bridge fortification, pothole elimination, and streetlight installation. Fostering job creation for San Diegans As Mayor, I will work fervently to create jobs for San Diegans and secure San Diego's long term economic prosperity. I will increase incentives for innovative startups to choose San Diego as their home, thereby transforming the city into a hub for innovation and a desirable location for young, talented people to live & work. Moreover, most new jobs are created by small businesses. My administration will implement programs to eliminate red tape and help small businesses navigate the system, grow, thrive, and hire San Diegans. I recently unveiled a detailed 21st Century Jobs Plan that is available at my website: http://www.nathanfletcher.com Improving public safety As Mayor, I will address and work tirelessly to eradicate public safety disparities--like 9-1-1 response times and, over time, the number of fire stations in areas that have been underserved for far too long. In order to understand the particular needs that various San Diego communities face, key members of my administration and I will visit each of San Diego's communities to meet with citizens and community leaders. We will keep the lines of communication open with community leaders and our citizenry so that there is a level of transparency that holds us accountable and ensures that we are meeting San Diegans' needs efficiently and effectively. |
