Full Biography for Sean M. Reagan

|
Sean Michael Reagan was born and raised in Cerritos, CA. In this middle class suburbia he was raised in a happy childhood by a single parent mother, Margaret Reagan who was a special education teacher. He has two sisters who also have careers in the service fields (Social Worker and Special Ed teacher) and a younger brother. He was raised to play sports and eventually coached and umpired Little League baseball. He attended and graduated Cerritos High School with the class of 1993. Cerritos is a very diverse city and has many international immigrants, which contributed to Sean's interest in foreign relations and would eventually introduce him to a school program called Model United Nations. Motivated to understand more of the commonalities between his upbringings and the rest of the world, he went on to graduate from U.C. Davis with a B.A. in International Relations. His interest in creating unity between issues that come across most countries gave him a focus in the silver lining of most issues in society, Education. Reagan knew in order to be a part of the change for the better of humanity, he was to educate and teach the youth. He continued his education at UC Davis/CSU Sacramento for a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. His first teaching job after college was in Special Education for 3 years, working with students classified as Emotionally Disturbed in Northern CA: in Woodland, Davis, & West Sacramento. This job taught him patience and compassion for every type of student. But he still desired to find that connecting factor of worldly cultures and took a job teaching 1 semester in Santo Domingo, en la Republica Dominicana (the Dominican Republic). In the DR, he would learn to speak Spanish and appreciate Latino cultures from all around the world. Ready to settle, Reagan found the Whittier Union High School District in 2003 and has been teaching at California High School in Whittier, CA ever since. With his 3 Teaching Credentials: Multiple Subject (K-12), Secondary Math, & Secondary Social Science, and his life experience and appreciation of many cultures, Sean Reagan has been at the forefront of his district ever since. Reagan created an International Relations class and a Model United Nations club that has brought his school district new prestige in competing with other high ranking districts, as well as helping under-represented minority students to aim higher and find their college or career path. He has many students who credit their favorite high school moments, and college successes, to "Mr. Reagan", for pushing them and showing them a world beyond their own city. Sean Reagan is married to Cheyann Montiel Reagan, an independent film Director, Writer and Producer. They have teamed up on many film projects and have brought many students to experience the entertainment industry, and given them a head-start on job opportunities using new media. They also have one wonderful daughter who is currently in elementary school. Sean Reagan is now ready to take the advice of many others who've been encouraging him to run for office for many years now. He resides in Norwalk, and is now campaigning for a seat on the Norwalk-La Mirada School Board, so he can work to improve the educational opportunities of another group of students. Keep your eyes out for this leader in education, we will be seeing more of this man. His favorite quote says it all, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
