I am the qualified, trustworthy and proven financial leader Redondo needs as Treasurer.I'm Dawn Esser, a 24 year Redondo Beach resident, finance professional and mom running for Redondo Beach City Treasurer. I want to be the Resident's Treasurer and protect our beautiful beach community's assets now and into the future. Here are my Goals: Protect Residents Assets: Ensure maximum return on our Community's Assets and adequate working capital for the future. Clean House: Streamline Treasury operations and significantly cut expenses to free up funds for betterment of the Community. People First: Create easy to understand financial updates to bring the residents closer to the financial affairs of Redondo. Team Up and Save Money: Team with Financial Services to increase cash flow efficiencies, reduce working capital needs and save on expenses. I have an MBA in Finance from Loyola Marymount University and an undergraduate degree in Finance from University of Delaware. I worked nine years in corporate banking and finance for Bank of America and Hughes Aircraft, and was CFO/Managing Partner for an overseas manufacturing and import business for eleven years. I am also a successful real estate investor and have managed my personal and family financial investments for over twenty years. My education and experience uniquely qualifies me to manage and protect Redondo's financial assets. I retired from my CFO position four years ago to invest in real estate. I'm able to serve full-time as your elected Treasurer with no outside business distractions. I'm new to local politics and City Hall, therefore I can bring a fresh set of eyes and spirit to the City's operations with no prior allegiances or special interests. I've shown my love and dedication to the betterment of this beautiful community through my years of volunteer service. I'm a founding leader of NoPowerplant and dedicated over two years of my life to ensure a new power plant is not built on our waterfront for the health and welfare of our community. I helped raise of $115K from the community for NoPowerPlant. I have served over ten years as Board Member, Chairperson and Auditor for the Beryl Heights Elementary PTA and Parras Middle School PTSA. I received the PTA Honorary Service and Very Special Person Awards for my service to Beryl Heights Elementary school.
