LWVGP Question: Given limited resources, what areas of funding are a priority for you and why?

By Erin C. Molchany

Candidate for State Representative; Pennsylvania State House of Representatives; District 22

This information is provided by the candidate
Given limited resources, what ares of funding are a priority for you and why. Investing in and sustaining reliable public transportation is my number one issue. Pittsburgh cannot continue to be a world class city with a constant threat of cuts in services. Pennsylvania needs a comprehensive statewide funding plan for all transportation, including roads, bridges, and public transit.

I will vote for no further cuts to education and will strive to re-invest in our children. The issue of limited resources calls upon adults in this state to work hard to creatively find solutions that sustain and improve public education. Investing in our children is an invenstment in Pennsylvania's future workforce. Educating our kids is a huge responsibility with immeasurable benefits. It deserves our utmost care and attention.

Ultimately, this state will have to do what non-profits do every year: do more with less. My experience has taught me this brings opportunity for innovation. Non-profit efforts across the state provide essential public services. Partnerships between government and these organizations are not only necessary but the future of a prosperous 21st Century state.
