I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1975. My family and I moved to Southern California in 1981, when I was 6 years old. I lived in Orange County until I graduated from high school in 1993, the same year I became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
I attended college at U.C. Davis, where I studied mechanical and electrical engineering. Many of the friends I met at Davis were from Sonoma County, and we would often visit for fishing, camping and wine tasting.
I decided to look for a job in Sonoma County and ended up at Optical Coating Laboratory (JDSU), where I worked for eight years. I began working in Healdsburg as the house manager of the Raven Theater in 2003. The manager position was a "night" job, something very different from my engineering "day" job.
I met many people at the Raven, and ended up getting involved in many other aspects of the community as a volunteer. I decided to move to Healdsburg in early 2005, and purchased a condo on North Street, right up the road from the Raven Theater.
In 2010, I ran for city council and lost in a close race. I continue to believe that I will make a good council member, so here I am today running again for city council in 2012.
