I believe my most important qualifications for El Cajon City Council include my residency, place of work, church attendance, and general community outlook. As a child and adolescent, I grew up in local schools and involved in other community events. Now again, I chose El Cajon as a wife and mother who owns a home here with my family. Additionally, for the past five years I worked as a bilingual English Learner support teacher for the Cajon Valley Union School District, although now I am a stay-at-home mom. My experience with the unique demographics of El Cajon gives me an honest approach to serving our community. Foothills Christian Church has been my place of worship for over fifteen years, and I have been volunteering with many of their community outreach programs, including the bus ministry, junior high groups, after-school Higher Ground Clubs, and am still currently involved with Youth Venture Teen Centers. My family volunteers for a shift every Wednesday night at the Youth Venture Teen Center on Chase and Estes, and we mentor and help sponsor youth who otherwise are at-risk. Finally, I maintain the mindset that my community is where I want to plant and invest myself. We work, play, and fellowship right here in the community where we live. Therefore, I am personally invested in every aspect in the well-being of El Cajon and its future.
