I'm proud of my record on the board. I've been your voice for many issues that are important to parents, students and our community. That is my job as a board member. I first ran for office while volunteering in my children's classroom I saw money in the district being wasted, while at the same time they wanted to charge parents for bussing. Today I remain focused on making sure that every tax dollar is spent wisely, and that our students receive the maximum educational benefit from every tax dollar spent. California's budget crisis continues to grow. It takes experience to avoid the mistakes so many other districts have made. We have made the difficult decisions to balance the budget and found new sources to bring exciting classes like project lead the way and the 911 call center to the high school. I'm a strong supporter of a basics first education. Children must have a strong foundation for reading; writing and math skills or they will not succeed and continue to fall farther behind. We cannot allow this to happen. Every child deserves the chance to become a productive self sufficient citizen. Educate them today or support them tomorrow |
