What's needed and why I can deliver it!My life's work has been about making things better, adding value to my profession, colleagues, employers, and community. I believe it's time for us to modernize the Auburn City Clerk's Office with the kind of efficiencies we demand in all other aspects of our lives, and update our antiquated, time-consuming manual systems. I can and will provide the needed leadership for positive improvements. But, it's not all about technology. That's just a set of tools that will work wonders for saving time that can be spent on other important services to the public. I understand the fundamental premise that is one of the guiding principles for California's 478 City Clerks, whether elected or appointed: "In enacting this chapter ... The people of this State do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them. The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed so that they may retain control over the instruments they have created." ~Government Code Section 54950 + The Ralph M. Brown Act If elected as Auburn City Clerk, I know what needs to be done, and have the abilities to do it, the energy to get the job done, and the character to live up to my commitment. I can bring better transparency and accessibility because I know how to do the job and will effectively bring together the people, tools, and ideas we need in Auburn's City Clerk's Office for the 21st century. |
