Political Philosophy for John Leos
Candidate for |
As a council member, I will work with Mayor Tom Tait to restore competitive balance among business owners in Anaheim. The recent 158 hotel tax giveaway was disproportionate, near-sighted and unfair -- especially to other businesses loyal to Anaheim and its residents. Since the community in Anaheim is filled with talented, hardworking and caring people we should let them all help make Anaheim great. My vision of Anaheim is one where the three pillars of Anaheim -- the community, business, and City government -- all collaborate to make Anaheim a better and happier city. I will work to see that each group has a voice when decisions are made on the council. Further, I believe good government is based on the values of transparency and accountability, not "business as usual" politics. These values will help us promote what's best for the community and commerce, while protecting public safety and private property. In short, I will do what's best for the whole city rather than what's best only for powerful and influential sections within it. |
