What Jim Katapodis Will Do For You as City Council MemberBy Jim KatapodisCandidate for Council Member; City of Huntington Beach | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
A fiscal conservative whose top priority is public safety, Jim Katapodis will advocate pension reform, managed growth, promote economic development, and raise the standards for a responsible government. While guarding against poor planning and over-development, Jim will encourage new economic opportunities that will provide much-needed jobs, new retail opportunities for consumers, land for industrial development to meet the needs of the community, and find new revenue sources to fund city services, thereby eliminating the need to raise taxes. Surf City is a great place to live, but it will only stay that way if we establish and enforce sound fiscal policies. As a fiscal conservative, Jim will work for a cost-conscious, transparent government. Other cities are struggling to meet their budget needs and are cutting services while raising taxes. Innovative options need to be explored so City-provided services such as library, senior and park amenities, are maintained and improved, and not eliminated. This benefits not just our generation, but the future generations of Huntington Beach. As a strong believer in government transparency, Jim will work hard to ensure that Huntington Beach citizens have easy access to public records and the ability to voice their views before an open and responsive City Council because now, more than ever, good government needs the participation of honest, informed, and involved citizens. Principled, experienced, knowledgeable, dependable, committed, and responsive, Jim will serve effectively on HB's City Council. Elect Jim Katapodis for City Council! |
