Councilman Tyler Diep is small business owner running for re-election to the Westminster City Coucil. Tyler was first elected to the City Council in 2008 and served as the Mayor Pro Tem in 2011. He has been a staunch taxpayer advocate on the council and is committed to job creation through encouraging small businesses growth. Tyler's commitment to community service includes representing the City of Westminster on the Orange County Fire Authority; previously serving as the Vice Chairman of the Westminster Traffic Commission and as an Advisory Commissioner in the Orange County District Attorney's Office. Tyler also worked as a legislative representative for the California State Legislature. Professionally, Tyler serves as Senior Advisor to the State Board of Equalization, an agency that is charged with collecting sales tax. In this position, he is responsible for minority business outreach and public affairs. As a business advocate and local elected official, Tyler knows the burdens that Sacramento politicians have placed on our families, small businesses and local governments. A first generation American, Tyler has lived the American Dream and is concerned that future Californians will not have the same opportunities that were available to him. He and his family resettled in Southern California from Vietnam in 1991. Tyler was determined to be a responsible citizen in his new adopted country. Tyler holds a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration from California State University, San Diego. |
