Official Statement for William "Bill" Wilkins

|
My name is: William "Bill" Wilkins My age is: 62 My occupation is: Hercules City Council Member Education and Qualifications: Since June 2011, it has been my honor to serve you on City Council; but my work has just begun and there are still challenging times ahead for Hercules. I ask for your vote, so that I can continue to make Hercules financially sound. I was a Team Leader for the Hercules Recall last year. Since that time, as a new Council member, I've supported the following: I participated in the Intermodal Transit Center negotiations and after eleven years and $14 million dollars in new grants this year, this project and the Bay Trail are ready to break ground. I voted for new retail shopping for added sales tax revenue and will promote additional retail development. I campaigned for the half cent sales tax measure which passed in June, to support public safety and other vital programs. Sycamore North, is now in escrow and soon construction will resume. The sale of this property and subsequent completion will be a major win for Hercules. My family includes my wife, Susan, a volunteer for HMHS and the Senior Center; my son, Sean, who graduated from HMHS last year and now attends DVC and Helen, my mother- in-law, who just turned 90. I worked for 32 years in the public sector and retired as Supervising Real Estate Agent for Oakland, where I prepared real estate budgets, managed revenue programs and negotiated complex real estate deals. I am a strong, independent voice for Hercules, if you agree, Vote for Wilkins. |
