This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Mike Metcalf

My age is: 70

My occupation is: Retired Civil Engineer

Education and Qualifications:

Moraga is a great place to live, work and play. That's why my family has lived here for 27 years. Our Town's values and goals are well known. We want amenities and vibrant businesses, not the unseemly growth found nearby. We want to preserve our secure, small town environment. We want our streets, parks, Hacienda and library to be in good repair. On this, most of us can agree.

I understand the challenges facing the Town. Growth must be controlled and responsible. Public policy must encourage business vitality. Financial stewardship means promoting revenue enhancement and cost containment. Little can be accomplished without enlightened leadership and community involvement.

I am an engineering project manager with over 30 years of industry experience. I have dedicated my retirement since 1999 to community service: six years as a planning commissioner, eight years on the Town Council, two years as mayor, and as a member of Kiwanis. I am committed and involved.

I understand our needs and priorities. Long range plans developed since 2004 are becoming reality; much remains to be done. We need momentum and focus. Serious challenges require serious leaders. I look forward to continue serving you as a council member.
