My name is: Greg Lyman My age is: 50 My occupation is: Environmental Engineer Education and Qualifications: I have lived and owned a home in El Cerrito for the past 23 years. I currently serve on the El Cerrito City Council. During the past four years we have reopened the Cerrito Theater, finished San Pablo Avenue improvements, repaved the streets of El Cerrito, attracted new businesses and rebuilt the recycling center. All of these achievements enhance our community and are valued by El Cerrito residents and business owners. To continue improving our quality of life, I support improvement and modernization of our library, senior and community centers and public safety building. I have worked to create healthy activities and new playing fields for our children, including the Gilman Street sports fields. I previously served on El Cerrito's Park and Recreation Commission and as President of the Albany Berkeley Girls Softball League. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and am a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California. My career over the past 27 years has been dedicated to the protection and restoration of our natural environment, including the creation of habitat for threatened and endangered species. I have earned endorsements from current El Cerrito Council Members Abelson, Benassini, Cheng and Jones. I am also endorsed by Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia and Congressman George Miller. If reelected, I will continue to work on improving our quality of life in El Cerrito, with emphasis on providing public safety and services, expanding pedestrian friendly areas and attracting new shops and amenities. I would appreciate your vote on November 6th. |
