Keith McCowen was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1973 to his mother Kathy & father Albert McCowen. Mr. McCowen is the eldest of 3 brothers & 2 sisters. Mr. McCowen grew up here in the district. Mr.McCowen enjoys reading, animals, taking his wife to the movies, volunteering in various community projects, and home improvement. Three of his favorite subjects are American Government, History, and Self Improvement. He feels our state needs statesmen and not politicians. He sees our district falling apart because of Sacramento's financial waste and also understands the politicians are out of touch with the constituency based on their voting record. Mr.McCowen wants to be your advocate and stand up for taxpayers, families, standards, and businesses. He believes in standing up for Californians and our state and helping to unlock the positive potential of our citizens. During his preteen years he worked for neighbors by doing various jobs such as cutting the grass, picking weeds, and taking out their garbage. He and his best friend also collected recyclables to keep extra cash in their pockets. In his teens he started his first business as a house painter. He also worked as a movie extra on a few episodes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He has four trades under his belt. He completed coursework for locksmith, auto body specialist, mechanic, and upholstery repair. He was employed as a landscaper, locksmith, machinist, and school bus driver. Currently he works for a local municipality, He also runs a home based business in e-commerce. Mr.McCowen also lends a hand on an accident review board. Mr. McCowen was elected to the Central Committee from 2009 to present. This is his second term in this position. In 2010 Mr.McCowen was also elected to the Neighborhood Council Central Area as a representative working on issues concerning stakeholders and the community. Mr.McCowen has been a participating member in the Community Block Club for the past two years. He serves as a community advocate and organizer. |
