This is an overview of my position on most topics. Please feel free to see my Website for additional views.Biography: My name is Kevin Downs. I was born and raised in Red Lion, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Red Lion Area Senior High School. I attended Penn State University and York College. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting in 1991. I have been a controller of million dollar companies, a local businessman, real estate holder, as well as a top salesman for a national mortgage bank. I hold licenses for banking in several states. I have secured financing for nearly one billion in loans for local businesses and residents. I have a wife to whom I have been happily married to for 16 years and three beautiful daughters, an 11 year-old and 8 year-old twins. I am lucky enough to have a local extended family, as well as many friends who have encouraged me to run for Congress. Core Beliefs: If you are like me, I watch the news and have become cynical of Washington. Both parties have been guilty of out of control spending and a propensity to put themselves first, before their constituents. Under the Obama administration, the deficit has exploded to over 15 trillion dollars. We have seen the implementation of Obama Care against the core values of the Republican Party. Congress has not been able to pass a balanced budget, and we the citizens have come to realize our government is broken. I AM NOT a Washington insider or career politician. The established Republican Party is endorsing candidates that have been in politics for decades. If you are like me, you have had enough! I believe in the following ideals: Limited Government, Lower taxes, Pro-life, Balance Budget amendment, secure boarders, tax credits to bring back manufacturing jobs, term limits, Repeal of Obama Care, Implement Keystone pipeline, Strong supporter of 2nd amendment, Stronger Military, Reform the tax code. Summary: Todd Platts handled himself with dignity and put his constituents first. I want to follow in his tradition. I have lived through an expanding government with which I have grown frustrated. ASK YOURSELF - Do you really want to send another career politician to Washington? Are they really working for you? Is your life better since they have been serving you in various local, state and federal government positions? A vote for me is a vote for you. |
