Bill Wechsler has been a resident of Haverford Township since 1986. Bill grew up in Drexel Hill and attended St. Dorothy Grade School. He graduated from St. Joseph's Prep in 1971 and attended St. Joseph's College for one year before accpeting an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Bill graduated from West Point in 1976 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Army. Bill served on active duty for five years and the Army Reserves for another five years.

Bill has been married to his wife Betsy (Bohs), also from Drexel Hill for 35 years and has four daughters, Christine, Maribeth, Dorothy and Anne as well as three grandchildren.

Bill is an active member of the Manoa Fire Company. He holds certification for both National Fire Fighter 1 and 2 and is a Pennsylvania certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He currently serves as an EMS Captain at Manoa. Bill also serves on the Board of Directors for the fire company and is currently Secretary of the Board of Directors.

Bill is the owner of W.F. Wechsler & Associates, LLC a company that specializes in voice and data network products. The company designs, installs and maintains telephone systems as well as computer networks throughout the Delaware Valley Region. The company is headquartered in Broomall, PA.

Bill was elected 9th Ward Commissioner in 2008 and is completing his first term at the end of 2011.
