Support an Effective Administration Within SB's Police DepartmentBy James L. "Jim" MulvihillCandidate for Council Member; City of San Bernardino; Ward 7 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
During the last 12 years, SB has seen four police chiefs come and go. The most effective police department have a tight command and administrative structure. The constanct turn-over at the top inhibits the creation of an effective crime-fighting strategy. In the last 12 years, SB has had four police chiefs, this has resulted in a breakdown in centralized command and control within the PD. Effective police departments are tightly organized -- similar to the military. Because of on-going political interference, SB's past three police chief's authority with the Department has been weakened. I will support the in-coming Police Chief with all the resorces I have available to create and carry-out an effective crime-fighting strategy. |
