An information technology specialist at HSBC, Johnny Gray leads a diverse team in the US and India. He is responsible for the design, implementation and support of database applications with a focus on regional and global information technology strategy. In his 22 years with HSBC, he was honored to receive the 2006 HSBC REACH Member of the Year Award, and the 2000 HSBC Outstanding Achievement Award. He holds a Masters in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco. Johnny's drive for excellence along with his leadership and mentoring skills, have positioned him well to run for the Hartnell Board of Trustees. His innovative and collaborative approach in resolving business challenges have resulted in successful solutions, and this same approach will be a benefit on the Hartnell Board, fostering team work, increasing productivity and generating new ideas. His varied experience within HSBC, which include Call Center Manager, Application Developer, Database Consultant and most recently Manager of Database Administration, highlight his diverse capabilities and business knowledge. Johnny has also contributed substantially in the local work community as the HSBC Boys and Girls Clubs chair on the HSBC Employee Action and Resource Team (H.E.A.R.T.) committee, and as a founder and project manager of the Future Is Now! Career Extravaganza. He was publicly recognized for his contribution in establishing this careers skills development program for the City of Salinas youth. Johnny collaborated with various business leaders within the community, the Mayor and City Council in achieving these results. Johnny is passionately involved in the Salinas community, and serves on numerous organizations that focus on children and peace. These include: Rotary International Foundation Group Study Exchange in India The Boys and Girls Clubs of Monterey County where he received the Distinguished Service Award in 2010 The Monterey County Children's Council as a Business Representative The United Way The Community Alliance for Safety and Peace (CASP) Restorative Justice Partners of Monterey County where he served as Vice President The Salinas Valley Half Marathon committee. In 2010, Johnny served as State Vice President of Community Development for the California Jaycees as well as the Vice President of Community Development for the Salinas Jaycees. In 2010, he chaired the Salinas Jaycees Children's Shopping Tour, the largest fundraiser they hold annually. As a child of a United States Army officer, Johnny lived throughout the United States when he was growing up. He settled in Salinas, where he has two children, Jasmine and Jayson. |
