Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of El Monte

Our city has lost its focus. The old ways have hurt El Monte. We need a positive voice for change.

As a long-time resident of more than 25 years and homeowner in El Monte, I am concerned about our city. My family immigrated to El Monte from the Philippines in 1986. Growing up in El Monte, I attended middle school at Gidley School and graduated from Arroyo High School.

As a communications professional at Kaiser Permanente for more than 10 years, I work with strategies and technologies to effectively communicate and translate complex messages to inform and educate the public. Currently, I manage the Medicare Web site, ensuring that the content and functionality of the site is simple, concise, and easy to understand for all users.

As the mother of a 6 year-old, I'll focus on programs and services that promote and support a safe and healthy environment for our children and families. We need to rebuild and maintain our "once-beautiful" parks for our loved ones to enjoy, once again.

As a daughter to aging parents, I'll also increase services for our seniors to protect their independence, with programs that help them stay healthy and assistance when challenges arise.

I am very concerned about El Monte's future and the difficult times ahead of us. Resolving the City's budget issues is essential to provide the resources for the services we need to improve our quality of life.
